Applicant Eligibility
To be eligible for the Community Impact Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
U.S.-based Organizations: All types of U.S.-based organizations are eligible to apply, including corporate and nonprofit entities. However, preference is given to U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that actively promote Hungarian culture and heritage.
Alignment with Hungarian Culture: Organizations applying for this award do not need to have a history of promoting Hungarian cultural, historical, or educational programs but must demonstrate a strong commitment to doing so through their proposed project. Applicants should clearly outline how their initiative will celebrate, preserve, or promote Hungarian culture and traditions. Priority will be given to organizations serving communities with limited access to Hungarian cultural programming.
Scope of Eligible Projects
The scope of eligible projects supported by the Tulipán Community Impact Award must be free and open to the public, and meet the following criteria:
1. Focus on Hungarian Culture: Proposed activities must focus on hosting Hungarian artists brought to the U.S. by Tulipán to lead workshops, perform, or exhibit their crafts. Projects must align with Tulipán’s program objectives of amplifying Hungarian culture, supporting local community and organizations, and fostering meaningful artistic experiences.
2. Focus on Engagement: The organization should be able to prove how the requested artist will enhance existing events or initiatives, integrating Hungarian traditions in a way that engages diverse audiences. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for events that align with Tulipán’s signature celebrations, such as Carnival, Easter, or Advent.
